Our Team

Our staff is a group of kind, passionate, intelligent, talented, and fun individuals that really do enjoy spending time together when they are both in and out of the clinic. Here are a few pictures from recent team events around Indy. Get to know more about each member of the MAAC team below!

Dr. Kurt Phillips

Owner and Veterinarian

Professional and Personal
Dr. Phillips has a special interest in canine reproduction and English Bulldogs. He is a married father of two. His family includes Jenner, a Vizsla and Lex, a French Bulldog.

When he is not working with animals and running his record store, Square Cat Vinyl, Dr. Phillips loves to see live music and entertain guests in his home.

Dr. Jessica Squires

Dr. Squires has a special interest in oncology, internal medicine, and client education.She shares her home with her English Lab, Finch; grey tabby, Ford; and a 3-legged, spunky brown tabby named Emmy. When she’s not at work, Dr.Squires enjoys checking out new restaurants in Indianapolis, spending time with family and friends, attending Pacers games, and watching IndyCar races.

Dr. Patricia Neyenhaus

Professional and Personal
Dr. Neyenhaus has a special interest in internal medicine, pain management, and client education. She comes to City Way Animal Clinics with many years of experience in emergency, specialty, and general practice.

She shares her home with her husband; three spirited children; a rescued Goldendoodle, Hagrid; and a brown tabby cat named Baymax. Outside of work, Dr. Neyenhaus enjoys spending time at her kids’ sporting events, visiting with family, camping, hiking, and reading.

Dr. M. Elizabeth Shaw

Dr. Shaw has a special interest in integrative medicine (acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy), pain management, and surgery. She is currently studying for certificates in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine and Veterinary Chinese Food Therapy.

She is a co-minion with her wife, Anne, for their FIV positive, black & white man cat, Davos. In her free time, she enjoys globetrotting, trying new breweries, cheering for the Indy Eleven, and attempting yoga.

Stephanie Baer

Stephanie worked in the Criminal Justice field for over 20 years. Her jobs ranged from offering home based services, working in detention centers, being a probation officer, and running a medical records department for a treatment center. She decided to make a career change in order to pursue her love of animals and has been working for Dr. Kurt Phillips since 2012.

Stephanie and her husband, Will, share their home with their family of four cats: Gandalf the White, Dot, Nurgle J. Moose, and Pippen F. Took. They also have their beloved Great Dane, Jett, a rambunctious Beagle, Remi, and a Bichon named Buddy.

In Stephanie’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, training in martial arts, reading and playing the piano.

Ken Clarke

Ken moved to Indy in August of 2011, from Bloomington, IN, where he started his veterinary medicine career. For as long as he can remember, he has always been surrounded by animals – which bodes well for his love of dogs.

Ken has worked with Dr. Kurt Phillips since 2011 and was integral in the inception of our flagship facility, Mass Ave Animal Clinic, and has now helped establish all facilities that makeup the City Way Animal Clinics family. Beginning his journey as a Veterinary Assistant, Ken quickly grew into the Practice Director, overseeing all City Way facilities. His passion for community outreach, focus on team culture and deep care of animal wellness is heavily driven by the motivation and heartfelt care displayed by his City Way team members each and every day.

He and his husband, Mark, have two dogs: Augi, a French Bulldog, and Brooklin, a Boxer mix. In his free time, you can find him exploring his neighborhood of Fountain Square, traveling, working on his own health and fitness, or diving into a tech-blog!

Nicki Grider

Nicki comes to our clinic with over 16 years of veterinary experience. She has worked in a variety of positions and is very excited to be back in the veterinary industry.

Nicki lives in Beech Grove with her husband, Barney, daughter, Poppy, four dogs and two cats – it’s a full house! In her spare time, Nicki enjoys reading, watching Netflix, and playing and writing music.

Caroline Booth

Caroline has been working in veterinary medicine for nearly 5 years. Previously a server, she enjoys client interaction almost as much as caring for their pets. She lives downtown with her husband and her rescue pup Earl, and their two cats Stella and Marley. In her free time, she enjoys live music, finding new restaurants and drinking red wine out of a box.

Susan Friday

Nearing two decades working in her passion of veterinary medicine, Susan’s focus has been customer service and hospital operations. She is excited to be part of the team at City Way Animal Clinics and is looking forward to working in the downtown area! She’s had a variety of pets since her young teenage years and currently has one dog, Hattie, a Pitt mix she and her husband rescued in January 2018. She also has a grand-dog, Emma, who is a German Shepard. Susan is married to John and they have two sons, Trevor and Logan. She enjoys reading, sewing, working in the yard, and spending time with family and friends.

Lora Bloomfield

Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Lora has worked in the veterinary field for over 10 years and has extensive experience in customer service. She currently lives in Indianapolis with her fiancé; 13 year old son; two cats: Frankie and Freddie; and two dogs: Bailey, a schnauzer mix and a Rottweiler named Fatty Girl. When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with friends and family, camping, reading and going to see the Cincinnati Reds play.

Jordan Hyden

Jordan has been in the pet world for a couple years now. She graduated from Harrison College of Veterinary Technology and is currently working as an RVT.

Client education is what she loves most about her job. Knowing that she can help an owner properly care for their animal gives her a piece of mind. She lives in north Indy with her husband, John Paul, and their dogs, Berkley and Beans, and cats, Shrimp and Scampi. When she is not working, Jordan loves to be around friends and family.

Becca Fadale

Becca has a special interest in neurology, specifically spinal injuries. She also has an interest in physical rehabilitation. She currently lives in the Broad Ripple area with her dog, Moose, a rescue lab mix. When she’s not working, she loves hanging out with friends and family and going camping.

Ben comes to City Way Animal Clinics with years of experience including having worked at the Purdue Small Animal Hospital for a time as an ER/ICU technician. He shares his home with his wife, Britnee, and their dog, Ava. He’s a huge fan of Dr. Pepper, rhinos, and 90’s tunes. When not caring for animals, he enjoys reading, writing, and gaming.

Jessica Wolfe

Jessica has been working in the veterinary field since 2010. After recently moving here from New Jersey, she wanted to continue her passion for pets. She resides in Fountain Square with her sister. Together they have a Maine Coon cat, Hailey, two Tortoises, Six and Sweat Pea, and a rescue rat, Cream.

When not at the clinic, Jessica enjoys reading, music, photography, and exploring downtown Indy.

Brandon Jones

Brandon has over 6 years of pet care experience and has always had a strong passion for animals and their well-being. He joined our team as a vet assistant and plans to become a Registered Veterinary Technician to further his expertise in veterinary medicine and animal care.

Brandon’s animal family includes three cats, a turtle, a bearded dragon, fish and a community colony of four cats. Before moving to Indy, Brandon grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana.

Rylee Hubbard

Rylee has been working in the veterinary field since May 2016. Although she is relatively new to the industry, she is learning quickly and hopes to better her skills to help provide excellent care to every pet!

She shares her home in Irvington with a variety of fur (and not so furry) babies. She has a Pitbull, Jack; a cute mutt, Lottie; a feisty cat named Chicken; and Kilo, a lovely lizard. When she’s not working, Rylee likes to spend her time cooking, reading, hiking with her dogs, and traveling as often as she can!

Maria Stanfield

Maria started in veterinary medicine in high school as kennel staff and has now worked for 10 years as a Veterinary Assistant. She has a special interest in behavior and enjoys learning as much as she can about why animals do what they do. She lives with her husband, six cats, and a dog. In her free time, Maria enjoys reading, drawing, online gaming, yoga, and hiking.

Sara Sallee

Originally born in Indiana, Sara moved to New York for a while and missed the Hoosier state so much, she moved back 4 years ago. Currently a student at Harrison College studying medical billing and coding, she plans to further her veterinary education to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.

When she’s not working or studying she loves hiking in the woods and shopping. Sara shares her home with two dogs, a Mastiff mix and Yorkie mix, and a cat.

Ashley Clark

Ashley worked in the theatre field as a freelance stage manager, front of house manager, and backstage technician for four years. In 2017, she decided to make a career change to pursue her love of animals! She plans to finish her education to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She lives with her family and their lovable lab, Lieutenant Dan, and her feisty chinchilla, Ginger.

In her free time, Ashley continues to support local theatre. She also enjoys reading comic books, playing her ukulele, painting along with Bob Ross, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and watching too many TV shows.
