Our Team

Our staff is a group of kind, passionate, intelligent, talented, and fun individuals that really do enjoy spending time together when they are both in and out of the clinic. Here are a few pictures from recent team events around Indy. Get to know more about each member of the MAAC team below!

Dr. Kurt Phillips

Owner and Veterinarian

Professional and Personal
Dr Phillips has a special interest in canine reproduction and English bulldogs.

He is a married father of two. His family includes two dogs—Rufa, a Viszla, and Faith, a Shih-Tzu—and two cats, Lizzie and Spraguey.

When he is not working with animals and running his business, Dr. Phillips loves to find live music venues and loves to entertain in his home.

Dr. Jennifer Glore

Owner and Veterinarian

Professional and Personal
Dr. Glore takes a special interest in cat health and has a special interest in ophthalmology, dermatology and optimal pet health care. She shares her life with her husband, Dr. Brent Gust (also a veterinarian). Her animal friends include a new puppy Otis, a Doodleman Pinscher, a cat, Penelope; and Moose, a former racetrack thoroughbred.

In her free time, Dr. Glore likes to travel, play golf and ride in the Trader’s Point Hunt Club.

Dr. Nicole VanDeLeest

Veterinarian

Professional and Personal
Dr. VanDeLeest has a special interest in feline medicine, surgery, and improving her ultrasound knowledge and use. She is married to Dr. Bill Hoffmeyer, who is a veterinarian as well, and they share their home with a yellow Labrador named Rosie, a Redbone Coonhound mix named Annie, and their beloved orange cat, Elby.

In her free time, Dr. VanDeLeest enjoys baking, traveling, going to trivia nights with her friends, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and exploring downtown Indianapolis.

Dr. Emma Ryan

Veterinarian

Professional and Personal
Dr. Ryan’s special interests include dermatology, soft tissue and dental surgery. She shares her home with her two cats, Hank and Miles, and her husband, Dr. Alex Murphy. also a veterinarian. She also enjoys spending time with her horse, Theo, who she competes in hunter/jumper competitions.

In her free time, Dr. Ryan enjoys arts and loves coming up with new home improvement projects to renovate her house.

Dr. Ryan Klobusnik

Dr. Klobusnik has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry. He shares his home with his two dogs, Samantha and Shiloh, and his boyfriend, Dr. Michael Kushdilian, a physician. When he isn’t working, he enjoys watching old films and exploring new restaurants and neighborhoods in downtown Indianapolis. Fun fact: Dr. Klobusnik has a twin brother who also lives in the Indianapolis area.

Stephanie Baer

Operations Manager

Professional and Personal
Stephanie worked in the Criminal Justice field for over 20 years. Her jobs ranged from offering home based services, working in detention centers, being a probation officer, and running a medical records department for a treatment center. She decided to make a career change in order to pursue her love of animals and has been working for Dr. Kurt Phillips since 2012.

Stephanie and her husband Will, share their home with their family of five cats: Gandalf the White, Dot, Ophelia, Nurgle J. Moose, and Pippen F. Took. They also have their beloved Great Dane, Jett, and two rambunctious Beagles, Remi and Chuck.

In Stephanie’s free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, training in martial arts, reading and playing the piano.

 

Ken Clarke

Ken moved to Indy in August of 2011, from Bloomington, IN, where he started his veterinary medicine career. He has two dogs: Augi, a French Bulldog, and Brooklin, a Boxer mix. He is interested in all things fitness and health.

Nicki Grider

Nicki comes to Mass Ave Animal Clinic with over 12 years of veterinary experience. She has worked in a variety of positions and is very excited to be back in the veterinary industry.

Nicki lives in Beech Grove with her husband, Barney, daughter, Poppy, and four dogs and two cats – it’s a full house! In her spare time, Nicki enjoys reading, watching Netflix, and playing and writing music.

Beth Wood

Lead Customer Service Representative

Professional and Personal
Beth has worked in veterinary medicine for over 15 years. She is very excited to join a practice downtown, where she lives with her husband Mike, her Yorkie Ike, her cat, DeeDee, and her four chickens.

Beth is an avid cyclist. In her free time, enjoys cycling close to home along the Cultural Trail.

Caroline Booth

Customer Service Representative

Professional and Personal
Caroline has been working in veterinary medicine for nearly 5 years. Previously a server, she enjoys client interaction almost as much as caring for their pets. She lives downtown with her husband and her rescue pup Earl, and their two cats Stella and Marley. In her free time, she enjoys live music, finding new restaurants and drinking red wine out of a box.

Jordan Brinker

Lead Registered Veterinary Technician

Jordan has been in the pet world for a couple years now. She graduated from Harrison College of Veterinary Technology and is currently working as an RVT.

Client education is what she loves most about her job. Knowing that she can help an owner properly care for their animal gives her a piece of mind. She lives in north Indy with her husband, John Paul, and their four-legged wild child dog, Berkley and cat, Shrimp. When she is not working, Jordan loves to be around friends and family.

Krista Renick

Krista has always had a passion for animals since she was a young girl. Her passion only grew throughout the years and lead her to Harrison College for her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. Krista graduated in 2014 and has since been working to apply and further her education and training.

When Krista isn’t working at the clinic, she spends her time doing make-up, shopping, boating and spending time with her friends and loved ones. Her fur babies include her Bengal cat, Raja, and her Pomeranian, Bella.

Ami Sutherlin

Veterinary Assistant

Ami’s passion for animals started at a young age on her parent’s farm. There she cared for most of the animals on a daily basis. Her love for animals grew when she started Veterinary Assisting classes in high school, which led into Veterinary Technology in college. She has two adorable cats named Idgie and Theodore, and a horse named Tater.

In Ami’s free time, she enjoys board games with with her family and friends, riding her horse, and reading.

Jessica Wolfe

Professional and Personal
Jessica has been working in the veterinary field since 2010. After recently moving here from New Jersey, she wanted to continue her passion for pets. She resides in Fountain Square with her sister. Together they have a Maine Coon cat, Hailey, two Tortoises, Six and Sweat Pea, and a rescue rat, Cream.

When not at the clinic, Jessica enjoys reading, music, photography, and exploring downtown Indy.

Toni Malone

Veterinary Assistant

Professional and Personal
Toni always enjoyed being around animals. Since as long she can remember, she has loved helping animals and figuring out ways to help them. Growing up that passion never left her, however, she found she was becoming more and more drawn to medicine as well. She decided in 2010 to combine her two deepest passions and pursue veterinary medicine. She graduated from Harrison College, School of Veterinary Technology in 2013 on the Deans List.

Outside of work, Toni enjoys cooking, sewing, doing yoga, and hanging out with friends, family and her Shih Tzu Mix, Jasmine.

 

Brandon Jones

Veterinary Assistant

Brandon has over 6 years of pet care experience and has always had a strong passion for animals and their well-being. He joined our team as a vet tech and plans to become a Registered Veterinary Technician to further his expertise in veterinary medicine and animal care.

Brandon’s animal family includes three cats, a cockatiel, a turtle, a bearded dragon, fish and a community colony of four cats. Before moving to Indy, Brandon grew up on a farm in Southern Indiana.

Kayla Eby

Veterinary Assistant

Professional and Personal
Kayla has always been an animal lover and has always wanted to help them. Her favorite breeds of dogs are German Shepherds and Pitbulls. Kayla has a German Shepherd named Nicolai.

On her free time, Kayla enjoys shopping, being with family and drawing.
